Here we are…down the the Final Four. There have been upsets, there have been Cinderellas, but let’s be honest. Any movie that has survived this far must be both pretty good and has a fair amount of fans. Now, it is time to see which will be the last one standing. The voting will close at midnight on Wednesday.

No vote on the MW vs East. Can’t believe Bull Durham lost to The Longest Yard. I suspect the voters were trying undo Burt Reynolds’ Oscar slight for Boogie Nights. All sarcasm aside, Burt was very good in that one. BTW, isn’t porn a sport?
Hoosiers vs Bull Durham was my dream matchup-great movies about my two favorite sports. The “trip to the mound” and the “cliche tutorial” should have put Bull D in the finals. I suspect voters were nervous about voting for a movie which had Tim Robbins in a jock strap and garter belt.
One last note about Oscar slights: Pete Vukovich and Dennis Haysbert in Major League.
Bonus Major League reference. Great ballpark sign : County Stadium in the late 80’s Huge banner in left field: Uecker’s Pukers. Milwaukee fans have their priorities.
From the Monk TV series: Guest star Snoop Dogg referring to a cop: “He’s the Whitest man I’ve ever seen-and I’ve met Kevin Costner.”

I forget who made the observation that women performing oral sex should be an Olympic sport, because none of them are any good at it, and the three that are should get a medal.
Bull Durham also may have suffered due to the fact that women do not get wooly. They get weary; nobody get wooly. Goddamnit, I hate people who get the lyrics wrong.
And candlesticks are always nice.

Caddyshack no longer in the tourney?
Who’s voting in this thing? Communists?
Or just people without a sense of humor.

Caddyshack lost to Slap Shot, so it clearly isn’t the humorless.
