If you’ve been a Dubsist since the beginning back in the Paleozoic Era, you know there have been several plunges into the depths of the podcast world. Well, there’s been another one; this time a return engagement on the long running MovieRobMinute. I’m just a small part of a series with thousands of episodes and a global audience…but it’s got “rabbit holes” unlike any you might imagine.
The fun part of this podcast series comes in the format. Just like on his blog, MovieRob breaks a film down into segments and uses them as a springboard for the deepest of dives. That allows the conversation to head for destinations one might not expect from the movie in question. The wide range of the conversational wander is evidenced by the titles of the episodes; almost invariably a tell-tale quote.
The latest bit of electronic quote-fodder comes in a foxhole-deep examination of the 2001 series Band of Brothers. But don’t be surprised to find yourself learning about cheese in a toothpaste tube, kosher Spam is a thing, and get yet another example of why J-Dub shouldn’t be on game shows.
