Last night’s Wichita State victory over the Kansas Jayhawks led to a lot of people saying things like, “Gee, now we know why Kansas didn’t want to schedule this team in the regular season.” Wichita State wasn’t really a surprise in this tournament, they were 34-1 last year and a Final Four team the year before that.

It’s also no surprise what I think about Kansas basketball; but the reason Bill Self has been ducking this team may not be as easy as they are too good to be a pre-conference schedule “pit stop.” It very well could be that the Wichita State mascot may represent the fact the whole school may be filled with “Gary Busey”-level psychotics.
