Sports Doppelgangers, Volume 85: The “4,000 Strikeouts and Ripping Drum Solos” Edition

In honor of today’s Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, it was brought to our attention that one of the folks headed to Cooperstown today also happens to be a major fan of classic Canadian prog-rockers Rush. This just elevated Randy Johnson far up the Dubsism list of favorite athletes, because let’s be honest…RUSH RULES!

However, once we dug into this a bit, we discovered a possible reason for his Rush-fandom might lie in the fact the 1990s-era fireballer Randy Johnson bears a striking resemblance to 1970s’era uber-drummer Neil Peart.

To be even more honest, there’s really no way we can mention either of these legends without highlighting their pinnacle moments…

First, there’s Johnson’s immortal moment when he sent a pigeon to meet it’s maker.  The reaction of the catcher is the best part.

Then, there’s the sheer genius of Rush, powered by Peart.
