Every once in a while, I just can’t pass up the WordPress Daily Writing Prompt. I suppose that’s the point for it to be the electronic laxative blasting through “Writer’s Block.”
What’s the story behind your nickname?
Like any fine, fiber-filled piece of produce, a good nickname sprouts from an organic seed and has an even more fertilized germination.
In my case, the seed comes as a set of initials. In that vein, some convey their own potent imagery… and it seems there’s none better for screaming “redneck” than mine.

This can be a daunting proposition when you have multitudes of friends with shredding senses of humor and a shared love of classic cinema.
It just so happened I became “J.W.” during a James Bond double-feature of Live and Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun. Those aforementioned friends couldn’t resist the golden opportunity to paint yours truly as a tobacco chomping “Good Ol’ Boy.”

That brings us to the “germination” phase. As brevity is the soul of all nicknames, the “W” sacrificed some syllables and “J-Dub” came to be. That also spawned the very title of this blog; “Dubsism” having become the “trademark” for “J-Dub” rants.
Having said that, if I’m going to be symbolized by a buffoon, at least it was one of the best “comic relief” characters from the entire “James Bond” franchise.
How’s that for fertilizing a seed?

That is such a great story and congrats as one of the coolest Bond supporting characters. a
