J-Dub calls for an end to “Homerism” before something really ugly happens in this country, takes a look at why this upcoming World Series might be the most interesting we’ve seen in a while, offers a non-flattering view of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and thinks it’s time to shatter some myths in the NFL, particularly when it comes to Rex Ryan and Bill Belichick.

1. I like your point about what makes Brady successful as far as goal setting is concerned. He doesn’t care about what other people think, and I agree that he has worked to make himself a good QB.
However, it wouldn’t have been enough to be considered anywhere near GOAT if he didn’t go to New England. I know that you don’t want to hear about the cheating stuff, but nobody can sweep that under the rug. I don’t know all the specifics of what went down over the years, and there is a lot of rumor and innuendo, but I believe that the Patriot organization has done some extra-curricular things to be successful since 2000.
2. I am a Denver fan, but you may have a point about them falling apart IF they lose the next two games (GB, @Indy). If they win those, that won’t happen. If they don’t, and Manning looks worse than he did earlier, a QB change may be in the works, and it will have to be. Manning is holding Kubes back from having the offense that he wants to have.
3. Glad you brought up the Dolphins. Campbell has them playing at a higher level. It will be interesting to see how they do at New England this Thursday night.
4. I agree with you about homers. On Football’s Future, I have argued with Patriot fans over the success that they have had the last 15 years. Me and another fan made some points about how Brady is more of a cog in a machine than anything else, and one Pat fan said that I couldn’t get a job if I posted my real name.
I also made a point about the amount of coaching and QB changes that the other three teams in the AFC East have had the last 15 years, and they try to hand-wave that away.

You are probably right, J-Dub. Campbell probably won’t be retained (although we shall see). You come out and play this bad in Foxboro, then you really aren’t for real. Unless they play a lot better, him and Tannehill will be gone after the season (I thought that Tannehill was a reach at 8th overall, anyway).
