This is a serious departure from the usual mission of this page because frankly, this is a serious issue.
Both J-Dub and Mrs. J-Dub would like you to know about a cause we are supporting you know about a cause we believe deeply in. We will be participating once again in the annual walk held by the National Kidney Foundation on March 19th, 2016 in Merrillville, Indiana. We are walking for our niece Lucy who has been affected by kidney disease. She will be two years old in May, and she has End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). She has one non-functioning kidney, and the other only functions at about 20% . This leaves her dependent on dialysis and until she can reach the milestones to make her eligible for a transplant, she needs all the help organizations like the National Kidney Foundation provide.
Lucy is not alone in her struggle. Right now, there are over 120,000 people in need of kidney transplants in America, and like Lucy, many of them depend on dialysis until donors can be found.
We need your help, and here’s how you can do exactly that.
First, you can “Like” the “Lucy’s Little Kidney That Could” page on Facebook. That’s the best place to see updates for all the events being held to support this cause.Lucy’s
Secondly, should you wish to make a donation, there’s an easy way to do just that. You can make donations online at www.kidney.org.. Scroll down to the Kidney Walk page, From there, go to the drop-down list for “Change your location by state.” Select “Indiana Kidney Walk” page. On the left, you will see a list of teams in that walk. Select “Lucy’s Little Kidney That Could” from the list, click the “Donate To Me” button, and you will be supporting our cause!
Finally, there’s always the “becoming a donor” option. All you ever need to know about becoming a kidney donor can be found at www.kidney.org.
Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
J-Dub and Mrs. J-Dub
