What your view of sports and life would be if you had too many concussions

Welcome To The “M. Emmet Walsh” Movie Blog-A-Thon!

A while back, I was honored with being allowed to participate in a blog-a-thon which was dedicated to the “character actor.”  I had so many ideas for that they’ve spilled over into their own events. My favorite guy in this category is George Kennedy, which is why his career was my contribution to that project.  The question became “Who’s next?”

Roger Ebert once said “any movie with M. Emmet Walsh in it couldn’t be all bad.” Suffice it to say, I’ve never seen anything in which Walsh wasn’t worthwhile.  So, why not Walsh?  March 22nd marks his 84th birthday, which seems to be the perfect time for a celebration of all things Walsh.

Participants in the M. Emmet Walsh Blog-A-Thon:

Dubsism:

  • Fletch, 1985 – Dubsism explores how this movie made him and Chevy Chase kindred spirits

Reelweegiemidget Reviews

  • Blade Runner, 1984 – A look at what is arguably Walsh’s most recognizable role

The Midnite Drive-In:

  • Back to School, 1986 – Rodney Dangerfield comedies have been sorely under-represented in these blog-a-thons, and Quiggy is here to address that

Taking Up Room:

  • My Best Friend’s Wedding, 1997 – Julia Roberts realizes she’s in love with her engaged male friend, and “rom-com” hilarity ensues

For future reference, you’ll also want to keep tabs on my Blog-a-thon page because that’s not only where projects are going to be announced for 2019 and beyond, but that’s also where you can see every blog-a-thon in which Dubsism has been a participant. There’s a ton of tremendous reading, as well as plenty of great blog-a-thons coming in the next few months which you can still join!
