Anybody who has read this blog knows how I feel about the Los Angeles Dodgers; if not you may want to check my original treatise on the subject.
Anyway, the goddamn Dodgers won the World Series for the first time since the Reagan administration, which means I am forced to retire a meme which was getting almost annual use recently.
33 years from today, I will probably be dead…but hopefully there will be another Dodger-hating blogger in the future who will be able to celebrate another Dodger drought by recreating this meme with a DVD.
But one streak continues…Tampa fans like SportsChump will still need to go to Ethiopia to pick up their Rays’ championship gear.
Until next year, baseball fans…

I hear Ethiopia is nice this time of year.
So here’s my biggest question about the Series now that it’s over. Clearly the Dodgers, having been bridesmaids for so long, wanted this thing more or rather, let’s just say they had more on the line.
Blake Snell, who was masterful in the Series, is due to become an unrestricted free agent in 2023, a year in which he’ll make about $16 mil.
I’d put the odds of him making twice that elsewhere the following year at -600 and the odds of him staying with the Rays at about that same number.

1) Clayton Kershaw finally strung together two starts in a NLCS/world Series in which he didn’t have one of those moments which got him tagged as a “choke artist”
2) When the last time the Rays paid anybody?
3) The real bet is do the Rays deal him at the deadline in 2022?
