With “Selection Sunday” upon us, it’s time to take note of one team which has already secured it’s spot in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Other than for songs about the last train going there, Clarksville, Tennessee doesn’t get much attention, but that’s changing. Being home to the Ohio Valley Conference Champion Governors of Austin Peay State University, this seems like the perfect time to point out the resemblance between the APSU Governor and Rich Uncle Pennybags, a.k.a. “the Monopoly Guy.”
Then the question becomes how far are you willing to ride that Clarksville train in the Hoop Nightmares Dubsism March Madness Challenge? Don’t forget Austin Peay has some tournament history. In 1987, the #14 seed Governors took down the #3 Fighting Illini of Illinois 68-67.
In case you missed it, this isn’t the first time we’ve injected the classic Parker Brothers board game into the world of college basketball. Who could forget the Dubsism College Basketball Monopoly Board?
