It will come not on the mound, but in the fairways and sand traps of the greater Reno-Tahoe area. Last Friday,… Read More Your Jamie Moyer Update: Moyer on the Senior PGA Tour?
So, if you are one of the six regular readers of this blog, right now you are asking yourself just what in the hell is Haiku? Once again, courtesy of the good people at Listverse, I’ve found the fodder for another one of my patented comparisons. People hung the nickname “The Freak” on Tim Lincecum, but he really isn’t a “freak” so much as he is an oddity. The author of the piece which I’m using for comparative purposes uses the… Read More The Top Ten Human Oddities and Their Sports Equivalent
Last Thursday, Jamie Moyer made his debut for Triple-A Las Vegas and he notched a win. Wins are huge, especially in Las Vegas, but let’s be honest. Moyer’s trip to the shadow of the “Strip” is a gamble for both the elder statesman of active baseballers and the Toronto Blue Jays. At age 49, Moyer… Read More Your Jamie Moyer Update 7/4/2012: Vegas is the Perfect Place to Discover You Can’t Win ’em All
It has been an interesting few days in our coverage of the ongoing Jamie Moyer saga here at Dubsism. This came as a… Read More Your Jamie Moyer Update 6/26/2012 – Moyer Says “Take Off, Eh!” and Heads For The Great White North
Originally, I was just going to comment on this piece written by Grant Bisbee from the San Francisco Giants blog McCovey Chronicles. But, the more I explored his theory, the more I saw this was morphing from a comment into another patented Dubsism-style breakdown. Either way you slice it, the dominant Tim Lincecum that won… Read More What is Wrong With Tim Lincecum?
It’s been a tough 2012 if you are Giants 1B/OF Aubrey Huff. In fact, it’s been a downward spiral for Huff ever since his arrival in the City by the Bay. Call it what you will, but this weekend’s series between the Washington Nationals and the New York Yankees could be seen as a possible World Series Preview. Last Saturday, Moyer made his debut with the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. He dominated. In five innings, Moyer allowed only a single while notching his first minor league win in almost twenty years. One measly hit, no walks, and five strikeouts. Last night, Jamie Moyer pitched well in his second of… Read More Your Jamie Moyer Update 06/16/2012: “Throw Strikes”
Editor’s Note: Thanks to the Movie The King’s Speech, George VI came back into the view of the American populace. If it weren’t for that movie, most Yanks had long since forgotten George VI’s role as a wartime leader and the fact he ruled sovereign over a quarter of the world. Much as he did through the… Read More Guest Column: King George VI on The Top 10 Worst Generals in British History and Their Sports General Manager Equivalents

A few days ago marked a High Holy Day in the religion of Tommy Lasorda Hating. It is no secret that I have little respect for the Chicago White Sox. I’ve written time and time again about why the White Sox are a deplorable franchise.
