The beautiful thing about a major golf tournament is that winning one transforms the career of the guy who hoists the trophy. In the world of today’s golf, there’s arguably no event with more transformative power than the Masters.
The annual classic at Augusta National touts itself as “a tradition unlike any other,” but Dubsism is the only blog who will go as deep as needed to bring you a guy who is not only our newest Sports Doppelganger, but has a solid shot to undergo the greatest transformation in golf.
Let’s be honest, something magical happens on championship Sunday when last year’s winner slips that green jacket on this year’s victor. At that moment, that guy is no longer just a great golfer; he becomes royalty. As we head into this year’s championship Sunday, there’s a handful of players with a shot at that golf immortality. But the guy we’re pulling for here at Dubsism is Patrick Reed, the leader after 54 holes. If he’s able to take down a green jacket on Sunday, he’s goes from “sorta” golfer to Master champion, which means he no longer has to try to convince his pregnant wife that San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey is “sorta like a doctor” in those Esurance commercials.

Either way, this guy is getting a lotta TV time.
