Here we are on the Monday after Championship Sunday, and both the U. S. Open Surprise the Cat’s Challenge have a winner. As far as the challenge was concerned, the rules were rather simple; you can see the details in the original post.
Realistically, determining the winner of the Surprise the Cat All-American U.S. Open Challenge started with a wide-open field and came down to two players, both on the course and here. Our top two finishers started Sunday separated by four strokes. But since their “fantasy foursomes” shared three players – Colin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, and Scottie Scheffler – this challenge came down to a horse race between Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas. Mike McClellan started Sunday close in walkingoffthechessboard‘s rear-view mirror, but as Championship Sunday played out, he wasn’t going to be caught.
