If you are a sports junkie like me, you listen to a lot of sports radio and get even more fixes from many forms of sports media. For the past week, all that media has been dominated by the exploits of Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Even if you aren’t a sports junkie, you’ve had to… Read More Why Hasn’t Ben Roethlisberger Been Executed Yet?
For all of you who, like myself, despise the New York Yankees, feast your long-suffering eyes on this: That’s right…that’s the grandstand of the old Yankee Stadium being turned into so much rubble. Well, I was right. If you are a blogger and you post something complimentary of ESPN’s Colin Cowherd, your inbox will become a repository of white-hot, flaming diatribes about the man’s alleged douchbaggery. Look, all I’m saying is that when the guy is right, he’s right. I’m certainly not saying he sometimes isn’t a monstrous… Read More Your Colin Cowherd Moment of the Day
Remember this woman? It’s perfectly understandable if you don’t, as it is an open secret that Americans only pretend to care about the Olympics every four years. It is also possible that you may recall her looking more like this: If you still don’t know, that’s disgraced Olympic trackster Marion Jones moments before she was stripped of… Read More WNBA To Be More Like NBA By Recruiting Felons
I’ve always liked Jim Sorgi, ever since his days quarterbacking the Wisconsin Badgers. Having lived in Minnesota and therefore having had to live with the insufferable Minnesota football fans, I appreciated anybody that used Paul Bunyan’s Axe to consistently cut the balls off Goldy Gopher. But the poor guy just can’t get away from America’s… Read More Jim Sorgi Just Can’t Get Out From Behind a Manning
If the calls for the head of Ben Roethlisberger when he has yet to be charged with ANYTHING weren’t bad enough…if the the phony hand-wringing over Michael Vick’s dog-fighting when nobody, repeat nobody, gave a frog’s fat ass about Ray Lewis being involved in a murder and Rae Carruth killing his girlfriend just because he didn’t want… Read More More Evidence of the Hypocrisy of NFL Fans
They may likely take my blogger’s card away for this, but I like ESPN’s Colin Cowherd. Sure, I know he hates bloggers, yet occasionally cribs their bits, but he is also on of the few people at the World Wide Leader who says things that are undeniably true. Yesterday on SportsNation, during a discussion of the… Read More Why I Like Colin Cowherd
Sadly, the run that Joe Nathan has enjoyed as an All-Star closer for the Minnesota Twins may be over. After leaving Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox with stiffness in his pitching elbow, Nathan has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Normally, such an injury requires reconstructive surgery, but there are a… Read More Vaya Con Dios, Joe Nathan

We live in America; a country where nearly 4 out of 10 high-school graduates could tell you anything lucid about The Civil War, and even less can find any given state on a map. Worse yet, some of them can’t even find the map. Given such a dismal state of geographic knowledge, it’s time for… Read More The Battle of the Dakotas

There are a lot of things in this country that started with a valid need for them to exist, then they outgrew their usefulness and transmogrified into some sort of horrible, Bizzaro-world mutation. What makes a great rivalry? If you were to leave that question to the dopes at ESPN, all you will hear is a bunch of slop about the Red Sox and the Yankees, Michigan and Ohio State, or from the real “traditionalists,” you might get some waxing nostalgic about Army and Navy. In other words,… Read More Los Angeles vs. San Francisco: A Study In Rivalry
As noted previously, there is a case to be made that hockey’s “The Great One” may in fact not be a Canadian as he claims. ESPN’s John Buccigross gave Gretzky a test on knowledge common to Canadians. The results may astound you. Naturally, we here at Dubism will continue to investigate this story.
